Today, women's knitwear has become one of the most common types of materials in fashion. In general, knitwear has gone through highs and lows with its popularity. However, this has largely changed ever since 1916. During this time, Coco Chanel released a knitwear collection of suits.

Upon the collection's release, people began to associate women's knitwear with the concept of liberated women. In response, many other designers started adding knitwear to their fashion collections. Knitwear has remained popular largely due to its many advantages. In addition, it is preferred for its flexibility over suits as well.

Over the years, knitwear has continued to show up in a number of popular styles for both men and women. Since that time, numerous celebrities have added items of knitwear to their personal fashion collections and we all know they are trens setters. Ultimately, knitwear has continued as one of the long time trends. As fashion evolves, knitted patterns have been featured throughout fashion outlets and are now definitely back into fashion nowadays.

Why Knitwear?

Knitwear remains one of the preferred choices for designers and buyers and a lot has to do with its elasticity. When compared to the two classes of woven and nonwoven materials, knitwear excels. This is especially the case with women's outerwear.

Usually, women's knitwear in a lace pattern offers a lot more flexibility than cable knits. Other advantages of knitwear have to do with the way that it drapes nicely according to the person wearing it. Another benefit of women's knitwear is how the material allows for it to stretch and fit a person whichever their size. This tends to be one of the favourable qualities for women, since it allows them to promote or hide their curves. In addition, knitwear tends to hold its shape and pattern over time.

In general, knitwear is great to use in women's outerwear. Largely, this is due to how they are usually warmer than other types of fabrics. In addition, they tend to give people more comfort than woven fabrics. Another benefit of women's knitwear is how most of the patterns are knitted from proper wool. All of this can happen without sacrificing on wearing the latest fashions or personal warmth. The same applies with women's outerwear as well.
